AHEF is a UK-based charitable foundation that supports the mission of eradicating poverty through education. It works in strategic partnership with Al-Hijrah Schools Trust (AHST) and Al-Hijrah Alumni Pakistan (AAP) to provide fully-funded, value-based, residential education to underprivileged children in Pakistan.
Al-Hijrah offers more than just free education—it provides a complete nurturing ecosystem. Students live on campus and receive academic, spiritual, and civic development grounded in Islamic values and the philosophy of Allama Iqbal. The model integrates faith, leadership, and learning in a disciplined, dignified, and structured environment.
Students are selected from remote and underserved rural areas of Balochistan, South Punjab, and Sindh. They come from families earning less than PKR 400,000 annually and must have completed Grade 6 in a government school.
Admission is merit-based. Each year, students are selected through a rigorous, district-wise process. The Ziarat Campus admits two students per district from Balochistan, while the DG Khan Campus admits two from each district of South Punjab and one per district of Sindh.
All costs are fully covered, including tuition, boarding, meals, uniforms, books, healthcare, and mentoring. The total cost per student is approximately £1,200 per year, funded through donations and Zakat.
AHEF raises funds internationally and provides strategic oversight. The on-ground operations are managed by Al-Hijrah Schools Trust (AHST) in Pakistan, which runs campuses in Ziarat and DG Khan. AHEF also works closely with Al-Hijrah Alumni Pakistan (AAP) to mentor students and guide community development.
Al-Hijrah is a values-based educational system rooted in Islamic teachings. It blends Islamic ethics with modern academics, encouraging spiritual growth, patriotism, and civic responsibility. It is not a madrasa; it is a holistic educational model for future professionals and leaders.
